How EPS recycle works
Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) is a product made from plastic (polystyrene) which has been difficult to recycle because it is extremely lightweight, its composition is primarily air, approx. 98%. By recycling your EPS in our Styrofoam Recycling Program, we can help reduce the amount of new Styrofoam produced and the amount that would otherwise end in the landfill. With this new technology readily available, Styrofoam recycling has finally become a reality.
Polystyrene foam can be more than 95 percent air and is widely used to make home, appliance and building insulations, lightweight protective packaging, surfboards, foodservice and food packaging, automobile parts, roadway and road bank stabilization systems and more. (with photos)
